Entertaining at home

Footage by James Whitaker
I want to ask you a question straight up. Do you entertain at home? Are you one of those people who loves inviting friends to your pad and creating a 3 course dinner or perhaps you choose a more casual affair? Or are you someone who prefers to meet friends at cafes, pubs or restaurants instead of having them in your little sanctuary. Me I love having people over. But I want to hear how you entertain or not.

  1. We are "go out and meet the friends" peeps... I need to start entertaining more.. bought a new home with a huge kitchen in the center of the house and a fab dining room....need to use it more and enjoy! If I could only cook!!!!

    Happy Weekend! LOVE your blog!

  2. Ivy Lane you do need to invite your mates over if you have a big old kitchen and fab dining space. I'm a lover of getting my friends over and helping with the cooking. Things like making pizza's or pasta go down like a treat with guests. And if it doesn't taste great the pressure is off:)

  3. I like to do either or but definitely my preference would be to cook up some great nosh at home and invite friends over. It's fun to cook traditional meals especially with my husband being Nigerian. Nic & Vic

  4. Ahhhh I love the video! If I had a nice place to live (I live in university dorms which equals CRAP housing), I would definitely invite people over for dinner....it's one of my favorite things to do.

  5. the 20-yr old me could do a 7-course chinese dinner for 20 people with batting an eye, the grown up me would have a complete meltdown if i had to do the same thing. i LOVE the idea of cooking a feast and filling the house with peonies for a crowd of people. but please - just don't stand over me while i cook! clean up as i go along - now that would totally work!

  6. Wow Nic & Vic what is a traditional Nigearian dish?
Pionies are my favourite flower and can't think of a better way to decorate the house. A 7 course Chinese dinner for 20 though is way beyond me.
Anna some of my best dinner parties were when I was in living in uni dorms. It's amazing how far our cheese and tin spag toastie's would go
